SpaceX launches 23 Starlink satellites to the low-earth orbit, marking a fourth milestone in just a week. The SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket blasts off from NASA’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on Friday morning as Starlink 10-6 heeds the mission to add 23 more satellites to the network.
More than 6,800 800 Starlink satellites are already stationed in low-Earth orbit. This is SpaceX’s fourth launch in less than a week after Falcon 9 rocket failure on July 11.
The company was forced to delay the launch for two weeks as the Federal Aviation Administration sought to investigate the cause of the incident.
The Falcon 9 booster loaded with 20 Starlink satellites developed technical malfunctions during the launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, prompting the company to delay the mission.
Friday’s launch was the fourth in less than a week, which mirrors an incredible step by the SpaceX company to boost the provision of internet service and connectivity coverage for its customers.
