SpaceX and the Polaris Dawn crew have broken the first-ever commercial spacewalk, attaining the highest milestone in history since the groundbreaking landing of the Apollo program over a half century ago. The Dragon Spacecraft reached its highest ever climax of more than 1,400 kilometers.

In a highly anticipated journey to the orbit that thrust off the surface of earth three days ago, the mission has proven beyond expectations, as this marks an incredible milestone to making life multiplenatory and improving human health both on earth and longstanding space missions in the near future.

According to the Mission Commander, Jared Isaacman, “SpaceX, back at home we all have a lot of work to do, but from here, Earth sure looks a perfect world.”

The crew members include Jared Isaacman, who’s the mission commander, and Scott Poteet (mission pilot). Sarah Gillis (specialist) and Anna Menon as the mission specialist and medical officer embarked on a commercial spacewoalk and are expected to splash down in the next two days after completing a five-day mission.

Sarah Gillis and Anna Menon will also go down in history as the first female astronauts to have to make it to the highest orbital level in a commercial spacewalk on SpaceX involving the Polaris Dawn Mission.

Crew took off from Carlifornia base and are expected to test the Starlink laser-based communications in space, seeking to provide for the space communications systems needed for the future explorations of Moon and Mars.

The scientific research to enhance human health both on earth and in future spaceflights will include ‘ultrasound to monitor, detect, and quantify venous gas emboli (VGE) for the study on the human prevalence of decompression sickness.’

The crew will also collect data on the radiation environment to understand how space radiation affects human biological systems.
