The Abu Dhabi, UAE-based airline Etihad Airways has opened a new flight destination, connecting Nairobi City, Kenya—one of the top African tourist and business countries in Africa, attracting millions annually.
The airline company said the resumption of its flights to the bustling East African city of Nairobi was occasioned by the increasing demand for travel between the United Arab Emirates and Kenya, marking a new level of milestones in it’s networks of operations in 2024.
“The introduction of our Nairobi service enhances our growing network while responding to a strong travel demand between the UAE and Kenya, as responded by today’s complete inaugural flight.”
“As both Abu Dhabi and Kenya experience remarkable tourism growth and set ambitious targets for the future, this route creates valuable opportunities for both destinations. The service strengthens the important ties between our regions, supporting Abu Dhabi as a global aviation hub while providing enhanced access to Kenya’s thriving tourism market,” Chief Revenue and Commercial Officers at Etihad Airways, Arik Se, said.
The new route will see a bi-directional flight service between Abu Shai (AUH) and Nairobi (NBO) by the Etiha Airways’ A320 aircraft. Both flights will operate on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Saturdays, and Sundays, providing a reliable schedule for travelers between the two cities, as shown in the table below:
